Hi All,
Just wondered if anyone could give me a helping hand.....I've been testing in an agile environment for about a year now, and am really struggling with the tools I've got. I started out with Quality Centre, which did not work for me, as I do not have the time to write scripts with individual steps etc - and the rest of the development team do not use it. I then moved on to attempting to use Redmine, which the development team use, so that my Test Scenarios/Cases would 'fit in' with what they are developing and it would be obvious which bits need testing and when, which is useful for logging defects that they actually look at and record time against etc. I am finding this a struggle because I've not found a way of getting the reports etc I need out of this without exporting to Excel and moving the data around into a format that I need. For example, I cannot get a progress report, or see which user stories have been fully tested at a glance. I use test cases, or scenarios (which I call Candos) which I then use as a guide to perform exploratory testing and then record a 'level of confidence' against. e.g. some candos will require a lot of testing before I have a high level of confidence that there will be no defects against this in live, for example, the data driven type of scenarios....and some might gain a high level of confidence from just a quick look at a webpage...
Just wondering if there was a consensus as to a useful tool, or a way of being flexible around a current tool? - that might help me in my daily battle!!
Any ideas/comments always welcome. Thanks!!
Sarah

Hello Sarah,

From what I know there is no tool for quality management that integrates with Redmine
(many exists as "hobby projects" but they are not mature enough).
Recently I made a study with some colleagues about quality management tools so I will
leave here a list of some tools that we considered helpful.

Best Regards and good luck,

Oleksandr

Hi Sarah,

If you use Cucumber to write and run your tests, there are several ways to visualise the results. You can use Cucumber's built-in JUnit formatter within a continuous integration tool like Jenkins or TeamCity to see which scenarios are passing and which ones are failing. You can also use Cucumber's built-in HTML formatter to produce a HTML page showing the same information.

I've been working on Relish, which is a tool to give testers, project managers and BAs better access to their team's Cucumber features. Right now it lets you publish Cucumber features as elegant-looking documentation with a full-text search. In the works is a way to see which scenarios are passing and failing, and get dashboard reports of that information. We're in private beta right now but if you're interested let me know and I'll send you an invite. There are some examples here:

cheers,
Matt
