Job Description:
Oracle Certified DBA with MySQL/SQL Server
The Consultant, under the direction of the State Project Lead, will assist the Nevada Client managing 15 Oracle, 12 MySQL, and 10 SQL server data bases.
The data bases are hosted Apache Tom Cat servers utilizing Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).
The agency has version 10 and 11g for the Oracle data bases. Other data bases are older and the agency will be upgrading to the latest versions.

Scope of Work:
Identify database requirements by interviewing customers; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems.
Recommend solutions by defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, data back-up, and recovery specifications.
Install revised or new systems by proposing specifications and flowcharts; recommending optimum access techniques; coordinating installation requirements.
Maintain database performance by calculating optimum values for database parameters; implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating

systems and hardware products.
Prepare users by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems.
Supports database functions by designing and coding utilities.
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Consultant must have:
The capability to perform the functions described in Section 13, Scope of Work;
Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience as a Certified Oracle DBA; and
Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience with MySQL, and SQL Server.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
Five (5) to seven (7) years of working with Oracle Data Bases on Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).
