This is a subject fairly close to my heart. I worked for many years on
the (IT) supplier side of government contracts, and now i'm on the
inside. My experience is the process is generally horrible for all
involved.

No traffic here since March. Did the face to face meeting happen, and
is there any follow up?

It's on pause at the moment, at least for me.

Hope so. Had some articles published and its generated interest which is
being followed up.

The outcome is to get more SMEs involved.

Yes, I hope so too.

However, for me the outcome isn't specifically to get more SMEs involved
- although clearly as a director of an SME this would be a great side
effect.

Specifically, I'd like to see a procurement proceedure which can work
with an agile software development methodology as opposed to a waterfall
software development methodology. And I'd like to see that because I
think agile software development can help save money, reduce project
risk, and mean projects are more lkely to be delivered on time. Agile
isn't a panacea, but where it can be used I've found it very helpful.

With my (very limited) experience of govt. procurement it's not
compatible with how it's done now. (I'd be very happy to be contradicted
on this...)

Best regards,

Harry
