As a Senior User Experience/Interaction Designer, you will build delightful, polished products that excite users. Your work will involve designing interfaces that solve complex interactions with elegance and simplicity. You should have a strong interest in technology and knowhow to work alongside technical engineers, product managers and enterprise user experience stakeholders. You can tell compelling stories about users and products to support your work.
The opportunity is unique and will require significant creativity and flexibility from the design team. You will be involved in all aspects of design: from early physical and digital explorations through concept prototyping and final pixel-level specification for an experience that spans devices and users. More than anything, an attitude of exploration, collaboration and openness will lead to success.
Responsibilities
· Employ a user-centered design method to develop user interface specifications including high fidelity mockups and possibly style guides.
· Work with cross-functional teams (product management, engineering, marketing, QA, etc.) to clarify and define business requirements as they apply to the user interface.
· Work closely with research team to translate findings from usability studies, surveys, etc. into improved user experiences. Makes design decisions driven by research when appropriate but also has a keen sense of what will work well.
· Appreciates critical feedback (both giving and receiving) and seeks it out in reviews with peers, stakeholders and research. Really listens to the feedback and can balance multiple, sometimes conflicting, inputs when arriving at a final design.
· Contribute to the creation, adoption and improvement design patterns and guidelines and their consistent deployment across various investment pages and applications.
· Serve as mentor to all levels of user experience designers for assigned business and product.
Education, Skills and Experience
· 4-8 years of experience designing successful interactive websites/applications as a key member of a user experience team.
· Familiar with rapid prototyping methodologies and UX communication techniques within an agile environment.
· Familiar with User-Centered design tools like Personas, Experience Maps, and Mental Models.
· Expert Illustrator/Photoshop/Fireworks knowledge, experience with Axure, OmniGraffle, or Visio a plus.
· Proficient with HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JavaScript concepts and cross-browser capabilities.
· Expert knowledge of user-centered design principles, web design best practices, visual trends and emerging web technologies.
· Excellent organization, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. Strong attention to detail.
· Familiar with accessibility standards and best practices.
· Portfolio needs to show applied knowledge of usability, user-centered design, and content strategy.
· Portfolio should show strong capacity for both logical and creative thinking displaying attention to detail in every aspect.
