Appropriate use of this group?

I have a question regarding appropriate use of this group.

Varian is a "service consumer" and from time to time we have work that
we'd like to get done externally. I find it quite difficult at times
to find particular "service providers".

I suggested that the wiki this group has allow organisations to put up
information about themselves and it becomes a good place for service
consumers/providers to interact to build those relationships. That
hasn't happened yet.

So, given that doesn't exist, is this an appropriate forum for me to
say "We want to get <blah, blah> work done, who is capable and/or
interested in doing it for us".

Cheers,

Luke Visser

At the moment I wouldn't like to see that happen. Instead I'd like
this to be one of the benefits of being an Agile Alliance Australia
member.

Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

Maybe this could be a good opportunity to get this sort of idea up and
running while the A3 is in its infancy. If it can be at least started
now it may be in a good position once membership kicks in.

Mark,

I agree and while I'd like to put the request up I'd also like to push
along the A3 organisation so that I can put this up as a member

However, there doesn't seem to be much response to what I suggested
and that may be an indication to the future lack of response to asking
for service providers that can do what I'm looking for but hopefully
not.

Is there a time schedule that is being looked at for getting a
membership organised for A3?

I'm giving a reasonable amount of time for the Board members to post a reply to this post http://groups.google.com/group/agile-alliance-australia-board/browse_thread/thread/d5a641077513f483

Three of the five board members have responded and I think waiting until Friday is fair.

Hey Rich,

I want to corral the thoughts of the A3 board members, which the link to the google group was pointing to.  I basically asked the question - should the A3 board disband or can we, as board members, put more effort and time in.  Everyone has replied with the exception of Mike.

With this, I have to conclude that the A3 board is not functioning as we'd like and that a change is needed.  I believe we should all give up our positions on the board and new board members should be found if there is a will to have a national body.  Maybe for this year a national body should wait until the city based chapters gain some momentum and then use that momentum to setup something bigger.  I want to wait until the end of the week for Mike to reply and then next week setup a new thread working out how to hand over to other, more time rich (and motivated) people.
