What is exactly is "the Summer Slide"? Its the tendency for students to lose some of the achievement gains they made during the previous school year. Research shows that reading just six books during the Summer months can help kids avoid the Summer slide. While it might be tempting to get your kids to read the "classics" or only award winners, the most important thing is that they read! We love recommending books, so just ask us if you're stuck for ideas.
