hi my tumour is hormone receptive too, i am on zoladex injections, they help shrink and kill it off so they can perform surgery, i have been off treatment for over 9months now due to giving birth to my daughter, they thought the hormones would increase the growth rate ofthe tumour but ithas stayedat bay although growing slightly throughout the whole pregnancy

Hi Kelly,

My son was born 16 years ago, He was born 3 months early.  2. 2 lbs the day after birth and he was in neonatal intensive care for 5 weeks.  At that time they had no clue I had a tumor inside of me, it would be 5 years before they dicovered that the 14 lb. tumor was there.  They had no idea at that time that It was the cause of my son's premature birth. I think pregnancy is definaely a risk to put oneself in with this kind of tumor. It can be very unpredictable to know what this kind of tumor will do.  My Son has Cerebral Palsy, due to lack of oxygen to the brain during birth. It was a very frightening experience and they were not sure he would make it.

I was put on Lupron injections in 1998 to help "shrink the tumor". I was part of the study done at Stanford.  Unfortunately it came back for a third time.  Mostly Doctors are  guessing what to do.  There is no specialist or ever a protcol for this kind of tumor.  I thought for sure I was done with all of this.   It's very uncertain, for sure.

happy to hear you had no problems carrying to full term! Congradualtions!
