Subject: Georgia Tech seeking PhD applicants especially in climate change, planning and public health, and sustainable local economic development

Dear Colleagues,

Besides the PhD Fellowship for Sustainable Local Economic Development that was previously announced (text copied below), I want to let you know that GT’s School of City & Regional Planning regularly offers other multi-year PhD assistantships.  PhD faculty have expressed particular interest in applicants who want to focus on planning for climate change and  for public health.   Full details on our doctoral program are online at:  http://www.planning.gatech.edu/academics/phd/overview .

Please share this information with your students who are applying to doctoral programs.

Thanks very much!

2013 PhD Assistantship in Sustainable Local Economic Development Planning

The PhD Program of Georgia Tech's School of City and Regional Planning is pleased to announce a three year research assistantship,  beginning fall 2013, with a focus on multiple aspects of sustainable local economic development  planning in the U.S.  The research may also incorporate comparative analyses between the U.S. and other countries depending on the successful applicant’s interests.   The assistantship covers tuition and a stipend.  A master's degree in planning is required.  Information about the PhD program and general admission requirements  may be found at:  http://www.planning.gatech.edu/academics/phd/overview

A separate 250 word essay outlining the applicant's research interests in sustainable local economic development must be submitted  to the PhD program director after completing the on-line application process for the PhD Program.  For more information, prospective Ph.D.  students  should contact Professor Nancey Green Leigh  at:  ngl...@gatech.edu.
