Hello MUP's:

Those of you returning, welcome back and hope to see you soon. For our newcomers, it was great meeting you guys. Before we go back to our super busy graduate student lives, a little socializing and mingling it's in order. Here are the activities for this first week please mark your calendars.

Walking Tour of Campus, August 27, 10:20 am
For those of you completely new to campus,  we will meeting outside Azimut (the cafeteria on the 1st floor). The tour should take around an hour and a half.

Potluck Welcome Party, August 31, 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
For this, Dr. Van Zandt is nicely lending us her house. Her address is 2332 Kendall Green Circle, Castle Gate Neighborhood. Bring your favorite dish or whatever you can cook. But if the kitchen is not your forte;  drinks, disposable tableware, chips and salsa are always welcome. There is a sign-up sheet on the entrance to the MUP space, please specify what are you bringing so we can make sure there is enough for everyone. Feel free to bring your spouses or significant others.
A word about transportation: If you need a ride get in contact with any member of the ASP board, we will be happy to help. Also parking space in the street is limited so please carpool and once there park in the driveway or along the same side of the street. This is a residential street after all and we don't want to inconvenience Dr. Van Zandt or her neighbors.

Northgate Shin-dig. August 31, 10:30 pm
After the Potluck we are heading to Northgate to celebrate a successful first week of school and an equally successful SEC debut (fingers crossed).  We will meet at the Tipsy Turtle, 113 Boyett St. and wonder around from there.

Seat Cushion Fundraiser. September 1, 4:30 pm
We are installing around 600 seat cushions in Kyle Field before the first home game of this season. Having proven itself to be very profitable I encourage you to attend. Internationals don't have any problem participating since it counts as on-campus employment and the contract is not directly in your name. Profits are divided between all of those present each day and included on your ASP account. They can be used towards paying hotel reservations, shirts or membership dues.
Wear comfortable clothes, tennis shoes and bring water. We will meet on the northwest entrance ( the one on Wellborn Ave.)  to Kyle Field.

Seat Cushion Fundraiser. September 4, 6:00 pm
Same drill as before, different date. I'm aware this conflicts with PLAN 604 for first-years but feel free to catch up with us once your class is done.

ASP Meeting, September 5, 11:00 am
Our first monthly meeting of the semester, we will discussed future events including the fast approaching Texas APA conference and welcoming our new members. As always brunch will be provided but bring your own drinks. Once we have a confirm room I will email you again. This will be a perfect opportunity to pay your dues and buy a shirt if you happen to be interested, so bring your check books people
