This detail clearly decodes the 818 g making it as simple as 123 .

 

Quite clearly no one in the APJC from TAAI gave any of the thought to their obligations and their duties the office bearers and TAC Chairman  when these amendments were being passed .

 

The Change in financial criteria ( 800 f ) will now give the Airlines an additional tool to restrict ticketing from  agents and if  they feel the productivity and guarantee is not to their liking they can stop us wow , boy are the agents going to have a great time  .

 

The 800 x is clearly directed at weekly payment and the fact that 850  allows Airlines to to restrict the  agents from working on the GDS clearly shows that TAAI had System ONe in mind  , and we will loose all GDS revenues . Is this not a betrayal by the owners of System One  . Is that why all these guys are working on computer CRS as if our future is their property .

 

This TAAI committee has made sure that the agents in India get into serious trouble ,If someone like me can understand this why is all of TAAI quiet , why are people not reacting  . I Can only say  Mr Narula thank you for this thorough analysis I do not think I would have bothered to read the 818 g and I wish there were people  like you looking out for us .

 

Aaleem , how come when the APJC meetings were being held the Agents representing us could not see this coming , is the APJC not about voting with 7 of our agents represented there . Do we not have an equal vote on all matters , how can we find out who has betrayed us . Did they  not even read the Agenda before attending APJC meetings ?Why did TAAI spend so much money on P R building and DGCA if they could not even get proper information , or was it their  intent to decieve us .

International Air Transport Association has issued a current edition of the Travel Agent’s Handbook (TAH) online.  IATA will no longer  mail the copies to Travel Agents . It is important for  all IATA  agents to be abreast of the latest rules and regulations . Important points to  be noted  for India
1. India is now under 818g and not 810i - There are significant changes in 818g. Please read it Friends .
 
2. Financial criteria is under Reso 800f. This requires an annual financial review. Please read and understand carefully. The benefits of this Reso are denied to India by the APJC.
 
3. Reso 800x also warrants your  keen attention. IATA can now modify the settlement cycle or the guarantees at short notice if they  feel and perceive that the economic conditions warrant a change it empowers  them to do so .
 
4. Reso 824a has amended the definition of commission...I draw your attention to it.
    RESOLVED that, for the purpose of the Passenger  Agency Conference Resolutions ( PAConf ), where applicable, the term “commission” shall be deemed to include any form of remuneration.  This        means not just PLB but even a free ticket or even a free meal once a year can be deemed commission .
 
5. Reso 850 authorises an airline to mandate an agency to book through its website and still be covered under the BSP. This means that agents can be told not to book on the GDS but on the website.              ( There go the GDS revenues) 
 
6. Since 818g is a standard resolution that applies to all countries barring, Europe & USA, local criteria has been established under Section 3. For India, the local criteria takes away the privileges that Reso     800f gives the travel  agencies. The local criteria is established by the APJC. Thank you APJC for taking away even what IATA is agreeable to extend to us , as business owners and IATA approved Travel Agents .
 
IATA has also posted to the website the updated BSP Manual for Agents 2011, information on ITDI's new e-learning courses for Agents and the latest information on IATA's e-Services.
