Dear Latika Ji

A4A has received a trail of mails ending with yours, pertaining to recent unfortunate incidents in the Leading Travel Association TAAI. The angst expressed by you is the general feeling of every Travel Agent.The Anger and Challenge expressed by Austin Ji is fair and justified. But did anyone in the Managing Committee bother to address it ? They are so incorrigible and corrupt that they only want to safeguard their position. No one wants to take a stand or solve the burning issues faced by the industry. 

Mr. Rajji has done well to unseat Mr. Mulla through the Court. One wonders HOW Mr. Mulla could do such a thing and HOW rest of TAAI membership kept quiet. Isn't it a matter of SHAME ? or have we lost it? 

Further, it is a matter of record that  when Mr. Rajji Rai cried foul for the "Casting Vote" less than half a dozen openly came forward to to support him or condemn the illegal act of Mr. Mulla. Is this an indication of the indifference of Travel Agents in general and TAAI members in particular ? If it is true, we do not deserve any relief. Let the airlines do what they want and let the leadership enjoy their patronage while their cronies will be happy with the crumbs like fam trips, free tickets etc. Rest of us can save our yearly membership subscription, by not renewing.

If the Travel Trade wants REAL CHANGE, we ALL MUST come together and ask for the  RECONSTITUTION OF APJC India. We must insist that all the corrupt and those involved in implementing "zero", WPS, TAP etc should be KEPT OUT. A movement should start to support those who work sincerely and who are upright knowledgeable and who can bring in a change. 

One has to admit as of now, ONLY IAAI and Mr. Biji Eapen qualify for this onerous task. Is the industry willing to support him? Will all those who complain, "why dont IAAI do something," become IAAI members and increase their membership, so that they can negotiate with the Airlines from a position of strength rather than having to run to the court involving time and money?

Decision is yours. If you agree, start from you and your friends in the trade. We CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE if we are NOT indifferent.

I agree with you completely ,the website of the Airlines are promoting much lower fare then what the CRS is showing , I remember when we agreed for 1% commission which TAAI should never have done we were told that we shall have the same fare even on the websites . We are these days only doing Visa for clients who have bought cheap tickets on the net , its very very frustrating .  TAAI   and even IAAI should do something about the fares on the net . I believe it is also our mistake that we are not getting back  the 6% transaction fee , it was this very 6% which was keeping us healthy  so why are we not fighting for our rightful due lets us get the 6% back as commission from the airlines , otherwise it will be impossible to survive.

What is this acting President business  business   , we should  have re election and have a good new team ever since these guys have come they have just been doing absolutely wrong first all of them do this  casting vote business and spend all their time in only fighting legal cases and now they are just not prepared to work or do anything for the members .

Even today we see mail from IAAI where they have shown their courage to continue the fight for commission why is TAAI always silent , really as the largest association if TAAI is  loosing their reputation it is us agents who stand to loose , this  has to change and for that these people have to change .

Really the situation is getting from bad to worse .

When was this order passed by the Hon. Bombay Civil Court and what was the case and what was the order?  Why the members were not informed of the same till date? I don’t see anything other than receiving the forwarded mails from the Tourism Boards, IATA, VFS and other organizations by the TAAI Secretariat, and those are already received by us directly from the said organizations. 

Further on the very 01^st of April 2014 letters were sent to the members asking to pay the annual subscription Rs. 6742/- (for Active), and so on for Associate and Allied members.

Let us have reasons for the renewal of the membership and continued patronage with TAAI.

If Mr Sunil has any shame left he must only be acting on only one issue to dissolve TAAI MC and announce the re election immediately within 7 days so a new team can be elected by members . It is a bit strange that politics brings out the worst in everyone , I had read a mail from Asha ji which said that we must recognize the effort that goes in doing an honorary job . 

Please no one should cast aspersions unless they are sure , my father has worked for an Airline for almost 40 years and I am in the industry for 18 years now and we know both these people  very well . Mr Rajji Rai is a very  very popular and  much liked person in Delhi and Mr Sanjay  Narula is appreciated and respected for all his efforts in TAAI and even otherwise , he is extremely helpful and co-operative with everyone who seeks his help . Ask anyone who has attended any TAAI meeting in Delhi and they will tell you that if  not for Sanjay Narula many people would not even go as he makes it a point to discuss all important subjects for the benefit of the agents .

By the way London Convention of TAAI was the best Convention ever in the history of TAAI , for only around 20000 Rs we stayed in the heart of London had the convention at the Lords cricket ground and had events in the evening at the most famous places like the London eye and Westminister abbey .  The cost of the ticket was less then 10000 Rs to London , and the best part it had the finest programs for the business session and the hall was completely full for every business session . What we enjoyed the most was also that after the convention we got a 4 night free FAM of Scotland. there were more then one thousand people who attended it and I am sure there will have been a few complainers in that but the event was fabulous , so I give credit to person who managed that so wonderfully well . 

But let us come to the core issue Sir , let us not blame people for no reason , I have seen mails that Mr Biji Eapen has not done much so far , but I must appreciate that he tries  he is a very strong voice of our industry  like him we see Sanjay Narula as also dedicated sincere and strong voice for us and we also have seen  Mr Rajji Rai work hard  in TAAI ,so we must appreciate those who work for us and not find faults where none exist .   

Let us stop discussing people and let us talk serious issues , let us find what the solutions are Sir . So please come up with some good suggestions .

Now he is of course not a good politician and that is why Mr Iqbal Mulla has won and has now been challenged by Mr Rai in court and he has to step down .

You answer your question by itself . When you are saying major politicians in taai are not your choice then why you peoples are choosing people like Sanjay Narula or similar persons . Have you forgotten taai convention of london . Please ask your members from Delhi and Punjab -- they will advise you . Why only London even Turkey and Chennai  was a disaster.

All persons who stand for election have paid for tickets for person to travel especially your friends from Delhi .

I would say all the members who have been at some position should not be chosen as all are selfish politicians and can do no good for our members . Many are sticking to their seats like leeches . Rule should be passed that no member should be in committee more than two terms. 

Save taai by choosing honest members with some chracter .
