Sir:
Nice comparison. Hercules could clean the Augean Stables after 30 years by diverting Alpheus River. However, it may be difficult for our Holy River Ganga, to clean up the sins of our leadership, accumulated over  the last few years, wherein they have systematically attempted to CRUSH the small and medium Travel Agents by bringing in zero commission, weekly payment TAP etc.

Clean Up the Augean Stable means Clean / clear up CORRUPTION.

For the uninitiated:
Augean stables -in Classical Mythology- King Augeas kept 3000 oxen, and which had not been cleaned for 30 years. The cleaning of these stables was accomplished by Hercules, who diverted the river Alpheus through them.

Friends:

It is absolutely DISGUSTING that in a 60 odd years' Association (TAAI) meant for the WELFARE of Travel Agents, it is alleged
* Members use corrupt means to get elected - free tickets / hotel stay / proxy votes - spend upto a crore to mop up many times that amount later
* Members are silent spectators while blatant illegality by way of CASTING VOTE is committed after the AGM is over
*Members are oblivious when Association Money is spent on court cases for personal gains and / or retain the untenable position rather than WELFARE of travel agents.

Truly, Sir Winston Churchill said, in a democracy people DESERVE a government they choose. Corrupt people elect corrupt leaders, and more corrupt leaders try to dislodge them.

Gangrene cannot be treated. The affected limb has to be amputated. So also, corruption CANNOT be treated, it has to be cut-off by:
1. Identifying the leadership which is indulging in corrupt means
2. Suspending them from the Association and boycotting them Socially.
3. Making  those APJC members accountable for bringing in ZERO, WPS, TAP etc and banning their participation in the Management and eligibility in the APJC.
4. Holding free and fare elections to the APJC openly irrespective of ASSOCIATION, so that vested interests do not get a back door entry.

CAN INDIAN TRAVEL TRADE MEASURE UP TO THIS CHALLENGE ?
