Leading Travel Magazines splash breaking news regarding a Criminal Case against IATA Representative by IAAI.

It is a sad commentary on the state of affairs in the Travel Industry. Why is it that an association is compelled to go to court time and again and finally file a CRIMINAL Case against IATA Representative ? Aren't there other options of conflict resolution?

The answer is in a series of persecutions heaped on the Travel Agent Community, beginning with Rs.20Lac diminishing Guarentee, followed by Zero Commission, TAP, Weekly Payment, ADMs etc. 

When IAAI succeeded in getting the 20Lac dininishing BG revoked, the vested interests made a tactical retreat only to come with greater force to ensure that the small and medium Travel Agents are pressurised to give in or close shop. After initial resistance, TAAI & TAFI, went along with the unfair / unjust proposals of the Airlines, for the reasons best known to them. IAAI however kept fighting and is still doing so.

In spite of getting a categorical / speaking order from DGCA, MoCA, and Court stating that TF is illegal and the Travel Agents are entitled for a remuneration, there has been no compliance! To add insult to injury, one learns that there is a letter, allegedly tampered with ! Obviously, the vested interests want to subdue the Travel Agents by hook or by crook.

It is time, good sense prevails and  the issues are  sorted out amicably by all concerned.
