Dear Friends,
Happy Diwali.
On this auspicious occasion, it is worthwhile to ponder on the amusing contradictions that exist in India - Thanks to Mr. Aleem for sharing - Truly enlightening.
15 Ironies that exist in India
Indian parents want their children to stand out in a crowd but expect them to do what the crowd is doing
- Politicians divide us, Terrorists unite us.
- In our country you have to look both ways to cross a one-way road
- It's okay to piss in public but it's not okay to kiss in public
- Everyone's in a hurry but no one reaches on time
- Priyanka Chopra earned more money playing Mary Mom than Mary Mom earned in her entire career.
- It's dangerous to talk to strangers but it's perfectly okay to marry one.
- Swear in English and people think you're cool. Swear in Hindi and people think you're uncouth.
- Most people who fight over the Gita and Quran have probably never read either book.
- In our elections we don't vote for the candidate we like the most, we vote for the one we dislike the least.
- Ours is a country where sayings like "Ladki Ghar ki Laxmi" and "Ladki Baap ka Bojh hoti hai" coexist.
- India ranks 6th in the number of Billionaires per country. It's also home to 1/3rd of the world's extreme poor.
- We rather spend more on our daughter's wedding than on their education.
- The shoes we wear are sold in air conditioned showrooms. The vegetables we eat are sold on the footpath.
- You need to have studied till class 8th to become a peon. You don't need any educational qualifications to run the country.
Add to this, enigmatic mail, from one Mr. Krishna Rao, which, supposed to enlighten but fails to clarify. And we travel agents swallow it, hook, line and sinker - thanks to our leaders who manage to keep the Travel trade confused.
Vide the appended mail from Mr. Krishna Rao, he says PAPGJC was held on 15,16,17 October @ San Diego. Well, does one know that it was held on 8th Sept, 2014? No. So, we don't question. In fact, it was PAConf/37 held on 16-17 at San Diego, CA. Since we do not know the difference between PAPGJC and PAConf - we just accept whatever is dished out.
Dear Mr. Rao, could you please clarify if TAAI / TAFI made a presentation at PAConf /37? If not, please inform the public that TAAI / TAFI cannot make a presentation there as it is a meeting between Airlines and IATA.
Coming to the "relief" to travel agents, because of Jt Bank Gtee, it is TAAI & TAFI who are more interested in this scheme since the deposits are lying with them since 2009.
So, Mr. Rao, instead of confusing and misleading the Agents, could you please ask your "leaders by default" to try and get the weekly reversed, rather than "ullu banaoing" us?
Dear friends in Travel Trade, on this occasion of festival of lights, let us pray 'tamasoma, jyotirgamaya" lead us from darkness to light.
Happy Diwali again
Rgds
