Project Manager - Infrastructure

Location: Stamford, CT

 

DESCRIPTION:

Project Manager - Infrastructure to be a part of our client-facing team of experts focused on customer satisfaction, execution and delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated professional with demonstrated leadership skills to lead a team responsible for delivering Global IT Infrastructure services. An ideal candidate should have hands on Linux administration experience with sound understanding of handling various UNIX flavored operating systems. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for assigning duties, providing management and strategic direction to the teams by monitoring day to day activities across multidisciplinary environment.
• Effectively communicate project progress on a regular basis and with frequency to all stakeholders.
• Anticipate customer needs, and successfully manage changes in project scope, schedule, budget and personnel.
• Negotiate, set, and manage stakeholder’s expectations and communicate project risks, and issues.
• Responsible to participate in technical discussions related to the project and be able develop project plans and modify systems/procedures.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·         Applicants must have a minimum of 8 – 10 year of overall IT experience.

·         Must have 3 – 5 years of experience in leading infrastructure projects.

·         Experience with Red Hat Linux administration.

·         Hands on experience in administering the server infrastructure for enterprise databases.

·         Experience configuring web servers and application servers as well as with Middle-tier application servers.

·         Experience with performance testing and tuning methodologies.

·         Should have considerable experience in triaging issues.

·         Strong designing and planning skills.

·         Experience in leveraging existing and new infrastructure from scalability and performance standpoint.

·         Specialized in capacity planning for middleware infrastructure.

·         Experience working in a corporate IT support environment.

·         Proactive in identifying issues before they impact production.

·         Evidence of broad customer service delivery and confidence to drive initiatives.

·         Outstanding written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

·         Strong organizational, problem solving and advanced analytical skills are a must.

 

DESIRED SKILLS:

The following are not required, but considered a plus.

·         PMI certification or other industry standard project management certifications.

·         Linux/Unix certifications such as RHCE, RHCT, RHCSS, LPIC.

 

Education Requirement: Bachelors Degree, or equivalent work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferred.
