Swapping race result when incorrect race number handed out

Case 1 : consecutive Bib Nos handed out to two runners, who started and finished the race. One runner had a low chip start value at the head of the field, the other a high chip start value starting at the back of the field. Eventually, after F5 or coming out to the home menu or even re-entering ART did the correct values appear for each runner - with especial reference to the chip start. I cannot remember in the heat of the moment what I needed to do to get ART to show the correct values.

Case 2 : a runner was given the incorrect Bib No, but the other runner did not visit the race and was DNS. Performing a 'dummy' race finish for DNS Bib No and then doing a swap (followed by deleting the fictitious race entry) did indeed give the race finish time to the named runner but the chip start was not transferred. Quick Result and Export CSV, also, did not reflect the correct transfer of chip start and finish time to the named person. How am I supposed to achieve this swap without having to manually write the chip start down and apply an edit on the Athletes tab screen ? Brian : database sent to you.
