I know ART can handle non-binary awards based on "hidden" but it would be really nice if we could utilize the X for the gender that gets pulled down from RSU as a proper gender for award divisions.

I have requested that RSU also implement NB gender as a possibility for divisions but they did say that if ART was to utilize X as a known gender in a division, and that gets uploaded to RSU, then it would understand.

Willing to be a tester (it was my job for 18 years)

Just an FYI as to why. When I created a division for "hidden" gender and uploaded that to RSU it then labelled all people in the race as part of that division. So the person who actually was the 1st non-binary (all was fine in the RSU report) was actually 124th in that division in RSU.

Thanks
Christopher

Hi all,

Just clarifying (this is me not being articulate initially - my bad!) that the way this works right now from RDS is that we disable the auto-selection setting and when the division placement is posted we send the reg id, division id, and place. So this would require sending the divisions from ART, which I don't believe is part of the workflow here.

We also call disable-division-placement-calc to prevent RSU from clobbering the divisions.

Thanks,
Soren

Hi Soren

There was actually 2 use cases here...

1. (This was just the easiest way for me to explain the enhancement request for RunSignup) Create the proper divisions in RSU. Uploaded to RSU from ART and have it computer the divisions winners. This is where not being able to create a division in RSU for a race with a gender of X comes in. Since I can't create a division in RSU specificying gender X there's no way to create the proper division or show it.

2. (This is what I actually did) I downloaded the divisions from RSU into ART. I created a new division in ART using "hidden" as the gender. This would be any registrants with an X as a gender which ART can technically understand as "hidden". I then pushed division bask to RSU overwriting what was there. It doesn't understand it because it's not specifically gender X in ART since there's no way to specify the X as a NB gender in the division creation in ART. So when it uploaded the division to RSU it technically has no idea it's mean as Non-Binary so it just assigns all participants into that division.

Now I could work around this by checking the "Add division results" when uploading results from ART to RSU but then it lists each division as an individual result set and just clutters things up a bit.

Hi Chris,

I'd have to defer to Brian here on how he's sending divisions - if ART is sending the reg id, division id, and place then that would be the best course of action to follow.

Thanks,
Soren
