I've been testing the heck out of the system trying to come up with the best flow-of-day plan for an upcoming event.

I capture results on computer #2 remotely and put it on a USB drive.
I bring it to Computer #1, the finish line computer.
Out of the dozen tests, it usually has a pop up like this:

But on 2 occasions, a pop up came and asked which race I wanted to select (kind of like when you need to select races when you combine events).  This is exactly what I was hoping for.  This avoids bringing in reads from a race I am trying to avoid.

1) Is it suppose to ask which race when you import splits?

Aside: The yes/ no pop up thing.  The two computers are the same time.  The start clocks are the same.  So according to the pop up I answer 'yes'.  Just for giggles I did it again and answered 'no'.  Didn't seem to make a difference t final time.  There was a difference in last seen report which was off by an hour, but final times same.

I got ART to trigger the second pop up.  It only pops up if the DB file being imported had reads on it that were read when chip capture was off.  So the DB had a mix of Chip capture from on race and a split read from another race.
If the DB being imported only has chip reads, it doesn't ask what race I want to import things into.

I don't have anything constructive to add right now, but I am going to be testing split import in the next few days too.

This is not splits, but somewhat related.
One interesting thing that came out of testing that was in my favour was how ART handled importing chip starts from 2 races into one.
Scenario:
Computer #1 is at the finish and has one race in the DB with all participants (e.g. Half Marathon)
Computer #2 is remote and captures the Half start, but some people can choose to start a half hour early.  So computer #2 has 2 races: Early Half and the Regular Half Marathon (which is what is on Computer #1).
Computer #2 captures start for both races and shares the DB with Computer #1 to provide the chip start times.

Computer #1 doesn't seem to care that the start times are coming from 2 different races.  It finds the person in the Regular race and puts their start time in.  Saves me from creating an early and regular race on Computer #1 and then blending the races at the end of the day.
