HELP!
I have been asked to quote a Cross Country race and It would be my first time.  I have only done bike races and 5k's.  So this is out of my realm of expertise.

I would be interested in your answer to Zach's question of Combined gender race scoring, and how do you quote/bid a cross country and what is involved?  YES, a newby.  I have been timing going on 6years but bike racing is my specialty.

I am attempting to add to our business as I would like to take on this as more than a weekend side job.

Truly appreciate all your support on this.

This video might be a good place to start: https://youtu.be/8cV8LcI_u7o

XC races take more prep time prior to race day, but I personally find XC races easier (or at least no more difficult) than many 5K road races for these reasons:
  1. You don't have to worry about race day registration and check in. It is common to have last minute additions or changes, but typically it's not very many and they're quick and easy to do there in the main timing PC.
  2. You don't have to worry as much about ensuring Divisions and Athlete Types are setup correctly. Typically it's just 5 "scorers" and 2 "displacers" and maybe a single division so that you can print off the top 10 finishers in each race.
  3. Yes there are multiple races, but they typically go by pretty quick.
