Thanks for the video, Brian.

Could it be used to set the chip start time for prospective triathlon athletes ? However, more often than not, athletes arrive early (or late !), and their chip start time needs to be adjusted. Is it then possible to go amend the athlete's entry in the Tag Read data file ?

But...being a triathlon, in my example, athletes are also finishing their event, so could there be data read/write issues if I am amending someone's chip start time and ART is wanting to write the tag read ?

Certainly, I can, as I currently do, amend chip start times in the Athlete tab and this does not effect any athletes finishing their event. But, as you point out, if something drastic were to happen, the whole point of the Tag Read file is to 'put things right' again. And so, is it not worth the correct chip start time be present in the Tag Read data file ?

If there are read/write data file issues, could there be a proposed additional 'chip start' Tag Read data file ? This data file would not get written with tag finishes. Therefore, I can keep amending this and actioning it throughout the event.

Grateful for your thoughts, Brian

Yes, i think you’ve answered that for me, Brian, in the latest What’s In The Latest Version video. Just to create a Chip Start “tag file” on it’s own and keep importing it during the race. Thanks

Brian
I wondered if I could use the Tag Read File Import to add split times collected from a remote time point.

I was considering the scenario that a remote time point might email the Tag Read File to the Finish.

Experimenting at my desk I found that the Import would not work if the time to import was earlier than any recorded time for that chip/bib number.

There may be a good reason for this. e.g. preventing Time Travel or distorting the Space Time continuum.
Nevertheless it would be a 'nice to have'.

Cheers

I could really use the ability to import a Tag Read File to import manual Split Times.  I can't seem to find any other way to do this.  Seems so straight forward but the stars are just not aligning.
Brian, do you have any thoughts on this?

Thank you!
Eric
