Hi all, I'm very new to the system and am planning a 15k with a half marathon on the same day to start at the same time (gun time) with the same finish line timing area. How do I go about setting this up in my system? Is there a video I can watch? Thanks so much, John McHugh Strong Island Running Club

I found "the help" from the software itself very useful. All information is there.

John, There is probably a video on this topic on Brian's YouTube channel. You can find YouTube link on his website and dig from there. But running multiple races is easy with the system. You just create each race separately. Different bib number ranges is the best way to avoid any overlap or problems. The system will sort participants into their correct race. I use different colored bib numbers for course workers and finish line workers sake. You'll notice a "viewing" drop down on the Open Race page. That let's you toggle between races for whatever reason you need. There is a similar drop down when entering athlete names during race day registration. Make sure you are adding participants to the correct event. It is also useful when somebody is changing races. You can use the drop down menu and switch them quickly. Then once the races are ready to start you will click the Time Race button at the bottom of the Open Race page. This brings up a dialogue box to choose the race or races you want. When you click Continue it will load the race to the Clock Page. You choose which race clock(s) you wish to start and hit the space bar. You are on your way. You can have as many races as you like running separately on the Clock Page. They can be the same start time or a different start time. This is good for Cross Country meets when you have the Boys Varsity finishing and the Girls Varsity starting. It allows two clocks to run separately for each event. Play around with it and ask questions if you have problems. See the screen shots attached.

Thanks Amir and Ohio!
Over the past few years it seems more frequent that races offer different distances to try to attract more runners, so I'm often timing multiple races at the same time. Luckily it's very easy to do. I couldn't find any videos that specifically covered how to do it, but as Amir said there is a section in the "Help/FAQ/Race Timing & Corrections" report that covers this topic. I've attached a PDF copy of the report where you can see instructions for timing multiple races (or waves) at the same time.
