I am getting ready to deploy a new finish line setup to (hopefully) improve reads, especially chip starts.  In essence, I am putting up a lightweight truss to go with my normal mat and side setup.

The nice thing is this is a perfect setup (in theory) for linear threshold antennae.  The problem that I discovered after purchasing is that the Impinj antenna appear to be designed for either mat use or some other odd holder.

So the question - for anyone that has used one, how do you attach them to anything?  There are no mount points or screws.  In a different use (for crit racing with different software I have a single one litteraly velcro'd to my timing box.  I wouldn't trust this to an overhead.  The plan is to use two of these separated by a circular antenna on the truss (and install the reader on the truss as well to keep cables short and help with reads.)  Then map the read range and put it as close to the start as possible without overlapping zones with the mat and side setup under our inflatible arch.

Ideas?

Hi Craig!

I think the easiest way to attach the Impinj antennas would be to use cable ties.
If it is important to you to screw the Impinj antennas on, you could also drill holes in them with a metal drill. You would be surprised of construction of such an antenna once you unscrew it. In principle, it is just a metal housing without any electronic components.
