I ran into the same issue here in Mississippi. I happen to know the guy over Milesplit.Mississippi so I just sent him the results in an excel and he uploaded them for me. I do not care that they are trying to dictate the software you use. Either Race Tab or Hytek. Nothing against either, but Agee and Race Director can easily time a cross country race as good as either of those. I have used Race Tab when I first started timing so I know a little from experience when I say that. I wonder is ART can get added somehow. It's simply a matter of knowing what they need from a format standpoint and Brian can easily make the option.

This would be great.  I time several middle and high school cross meets a year in southwest Missouri and I hate trying to get it on momile.  Coaches love this option so it would nice to give it to them.

Just sent an email to Rob Kellert from Milesplit for some input on this.

Here is his reply -

Hey Maurice,

For an easy upload to MileSplit the format we see the most is a flat HTML or text file that holds it's columns when copy pasted - As seen on the site here and attached to this email. The columns remaining intact is critical for our parser to recognize what a name, team, time and so on is when I enter stats and it means there is no need to spend time reformatting.

I know you're settled with your program but if interested RaceTab has been given an overhaul recently and is completely free so no harm in trying it. It may have been a little buggy when Jason first started it years ago but it has been redone with more time and resources to work on it now.

Cody Branch is now helping Jason develop it, they've made great progress and have some awesome things planned for the future. It can also automatically provide live results with little to no extra work.

Hope that helps, if that wasn't what you were looking for let me know,
Robert

I began timing on Race Tab back in 2010. It wasn't bad, but doesn't hold a candle to Agee. The road block I tend to run into with Milesplit is they want to steer you to Hytek or Race tab. I get it High School coaches have no budget and use Race Tab because it's free, I mean I did, but anytime a race hires a professional timer, they are NOT using Race tab, and most aren't using Hytek either. I actually know one that does, but all he does is High School XC and Track. My point is, they need to be a little more open minded or more progressive in working with folks like Brian to make sure his software can upload to their site. Race Director doesn't either and I am sure Run Score likely doesn't either. (((((come on man!!!!!)))))

Can someone let me know how you upload results to MileSplit? I'm trying to play around with it and I want my results to look like reece.bell's from above.

Brian, curious if after this XC season ends you could look at an integration with Milesplit. It would save a lot of timers time by being able to download entries directly from Milesplit as well as uploading results.

I too am hoping this is a feature that could be added.

I'm currently scheduled to time a sectional Meet in a few weeks and a little nervous regarding the reporting of results.

You should email Gayle rich at gayle...@flosports.tv. Ask to be added as timer for the event. This can allow you post results.

I have been doing the following:
1. downloaded and using Racetab
2. created a custom csv export from 5.1
3. used the import function of Racetab
4. Posted results to Milesplit in under 2 minutes

Would be nice to have that feature in ART, but until then I have one of my girls do this after each race and the coaches have been very happy to see the results on the LCD screen from Kiosk and then find the results online right after. Has been pretty simple.

Reece, would you mind posting a sample custom csv export from 5.1? I'll be posting results to Milesplit for the first time Wednesday evening, and I'm trying to study up. I've downloaded RaceTab and I'm playing around on it, but it would be great if I knew which fields they wanted and in what order. Thanks for any help.

file attached. In racetab click import and drop or load this file. You just need to select results, comma, and choose the right event. Match the columns to what Racetab wants and done.
It will import the athletes, teams, and times
Varsity Boys.csv

Brian, Curious if this was ever looked at? I know when I spoke with Milesplit they were open to integration.

There has not been any work on it recently. I will have to look through my emails and see if we've even exchanged emails. Currently I'm trying to finish up some of the interfaces that are already in the works before starting something new. I also need to block off a couple of weeks to get with Thinkify to see why there has been an uptick on the number of people saying that the reader locks up when programming tags. I'm looking forward to working on it, just have to clear some clutter first.

Has milesplit been integrated? If so do I just need to update my software version? Currently running 6.0.
Thanks,
Levi
