Comment on PC specs for latest version

I noticed a new message issued when loading the latest version onto my ‘kiosk’ laptops. One is dual-core and the other quad, but only have 4Gb and 8Gb RAM respectively.

Even though they are predominantly for kiosk and certainly will never be used as timing PC for start/finish, would they be okay for handling traffic at transition stages on triathlons, say ?

Does  it matter if laptops acting as kiosk were a different version to the timing pcs having the latest version ? After all, laptops are with the required chipset are now reaching quite high prices.
