I have recently timed 2 cross country events and have had a similar problem at both. I use the Senthys 4 panel system which has been very successful. My question is that for the last 2 events I have used unsheilded ethernet cables, one about 20ft long and the other 2ft long. I have had several missed reads and a number of reads where the number has been one out e.g the number recorded as 520 but was actually 519. Not sure if I have miscoded the numbers or if there is a fault with the cables. Any suggestions gratefully received

Hi Dave
I would say almost certainly miscoded so far as numbers being one out. I try to do a few random checks every now and then when coding.
Regards missed reads - I would try a backyard test using the cables you have been using plus another new one to compare results
Cheers

Getting one number off is always going to be miscoding. Be careful when doing it manually that you only have the one you want to change near the programmer.
