Good day, all!

I did my big race of the year on Sunday, and I had two anomalies, aside from a few missed reads due to people having their numbers high on their backs.

First one was the winner did not read as he came through.  I have four panel antennae, and I tested multiple times before the race started.  I typically wait to turn on the reader for listening for about ten minutes after the start, just to avoid any reads from people who decided not to run after all.  It was very rainy, so I thought that might happen.  For what it's worth, the last race I did, the same thing happened for the winner—no read as he came through.

Second issue is a little easier, I suspect, but I couldn’t find the answer in any of the documentation or videos.  I’ll admit that I may have missed it, though.  I saw three runners come through at the same time, but there were only two reads.  I saw the third person’s number and I wanted to just add it in manually, but I couldn’t figure out how to do that while the race was still going.  I tried right-clicking, but nothing.  I’m sure it’s something very, very simple, but I’m also very, very simple, so there’s that.

Thanks in advance.

For adding during the race, just hit spacebar. It'll give you a red line entry at that time and when you click on that added red line entry, just put their bib number in to capture them. I hit spacebar even if I think I missed a read just to get the time. If you have 4 panels, and this runner put the bib on his back, the panel probably didn't read it. I added mat antennas to go with my panels to cover all directions.

Also - you can edit the time so if you want to give the missed read the same time as their buddy. When I edit a time I usually set the sub seconds to 000 as a flag that it is a manual time, There is a 1:1000 chance that a chip time has a 000 in the millisecond box!!

I’m presuming you have the chip tag affixed to the back of the race number.

Winner not being read : I’ve had this in the past when the race number ‘stuck’ to their body, with so much sweat generated by the runner. ( whether foam would have helped is debatable). In this case it is unlikely the tag will be seen, as the body is absorbing the radio signal. For tags to work they have to exist in ‘free space’.

If you are adding in the number at the moment it should read, enter number and hit enter. The Bib+ feature is a manual way to quickly add in the a place and time.

Make sure to also do a quick search (Q) for the non-captured bib too. They could already be in the results because they already finished, already DNFed, started late and so have already "finished". I see people do this a lot - run in with their friend or whoever, after they are already in the results. But great to capture it as it happens for sure.
