I need advice on purchasing a suitable Canon EOS camera to use with the Agee Race Timing software.

I’ve looked up all the camera models listed in the “Printers & Camera Settings” section, but they all seem to be outdated models that are no longer available new.

Can anyone recommend a model?

I’m looking for a newer model that’s still available for purchase new.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The Canon SDK I'm using are fairly current, so there should be a lot of current models listed as long as you're not using a very old version of the timing software. For example I use the T7, but I really can't tell a difference between it and the older XSi, T3, T3i, T6, or any other models I own. So if it were me, I'd just buy the cheapest compatible model I can find online - especially since we're using it out in the elements and it's often set up out in public where I have more important things to do than keep my eye on it constantly. I haven't had any stolen so far, but I have had people do weird things and knock it over, so I've had a few lenses get busted. So the cheaper the better in my opinion since the quality of the image doesn't really seem to be noticeably different to my non-professional eye.
