Ethernet connected devices kicking you offline?

Occasionally I'll see someone say that connecting their reader will kick their computer offline (can't connect to WiFi). This isn't normal, but of course with the computer offline I can't remote in and see exactly what is causing it. It's a setting within the laptop itself that can be disabled.

I believe for most people the solution is a setting in the BIOS, however #4 is another strong candidate to look at if you're having this issue. See attached screenshot of things you can try to fix the issue.
