Alien alr-9900+ question

I just picked up a used European frequency alien 9900+ reader and 4 antennae and had no real issue connecting to the software.
However my issue is that I am only getting around 30 reads per second from a tag when introduced to the reader when using the test section of the software. I get the same results from the store rfid activity section. Compared to my Impinj r1000 readers which give me approx 300 reads per second.
Using aliens own gateway software it shows approx 80 reads per second.
I have installed latest firmware and reset factory reset.
I know a few on here use this reader. Can they tell me if I need to set some setting because the read rate is dismal and I know these are supposed to be a great reader

I'm not sure what all equipment you have, but if you are using antennas that operate on one frequency, but the reader is set for a different frequency then that could cause a big drop in performance.  Just throwing it out for consideration. :)

Also make sure you don't have any macro enabled: MacroList

If you have a default Macro "default" it will always revert back to the maro setting! (run "macrodel default" to remove it)

Have you a reader functioning perfectly on ART using the setting you posted.
I ended up failing to get a resolution and ended up setting a macro that from power up just logs tags (in the same format as the store rfid activity so that I can import into ART) using aliens own software.
It would be great to get it functional with ART. They are reputed to be a great reader

I don't yet, I'm just in the process of gathering the hardware. I only had a demo of ART.

Most of that config is from CrossMgr and the with the help of the AlienTech support. (I'm hopping it works with ART)

I must say I tried hard to get it functioning and in the end as mentioned only use it externally from the program as a remote tag collector.

Do you use DHCP? if not make sure the DHCP services is set to off as it will cycle and make the reader unresponsive every 30-40 sec. If the reader is reading tag it might be a small issue that's easy to resolve.

Brian, Is ART configures to pull the tags in interactive mode or autonomous mode? Is the ART expecting the default "text" in the "%k" format?

No definitely assigned a specific up.
That's for sure because I normally have all my radios on assigned It's.
I am out of the country till tomorrow evening but will pull it back out and have a look at the settings.
It would be nice to get it functioning with ART for sure
