Database Transfer Issues

This morning had an event of 600 runners using the newest update -   Timing went well   however  database wasnt transferring on the shared network. So I couldnt use my selfie tv station - which is the quick results tv.   I then tried copying the database from main pc on to a thumb drive and manually put that on my quick results tv - That also didnt work  .  After replacing original database on desktop to quick results tv    it wouldnt recognize any bibs that crossed     Any ideas ?

I think I found what happened - I am not sure if this a glitch.   When i created the new database for this race - I edited the racetiming name to Keystone 5k.  That "keystone 5k"is what is showing on my setting screen of the main timing computer under database   however when i manually transfer it to a thumb drive it reverted back to "racetiminimg"  I assume that happed when it was copying it to the shared folder.  If I manually use the race timing db yo quick results tv it shows finishers

I believe the software has always named the backup file it creates "RaceTiming.db", that's because the Results Kiosk, Quick Results TV, and any other feature that is looking for a backup wouldn't know what file to look for (and copy over) if I let the backup database filename be anything the user decides. Notice how in the Settings screen the "backup path" is simply a folder, not a specific database file.

Test it out again at home and if it doesn't work as expected I can remote into both computers and see what's going on.

Thank you Brian -  I tend to create a new database for each race and name it that race like "keystone 5k 70426 " Then I put that in the main timing computer current database location.   That file is copied into the backup database location.  Which is a shared file on main pcs desktop.

I use two pcs to have 2 quick results tvs.  On these I have copied on those the same "keystone 5k 070226 "then the backup location goes to the main computers shared folder   This is issue I feel is because they are not named the same name - "racetiming.db" its not overriding the "keystone 5k 070426"  

Am I correct to have all pcs with same  name of database

I tested today too as you manually copy the race database on a thumbrive it changes it to racetiming.db instead of new name.

Been using ART for XC timing the past few years and wondering if there is way when moving the database from computer 1 to computer 2 without losing or overwriting the races I have on computer 2. Thanks
