Switching athlete during a timed race

Is there and fast & easy way to switch a runner during a timed event. For example, bib number 240 was registered to run in the Varsity race, but at the last moment the coach tells the runner to run in the JV race, that bib will appear in red I followed the below instructions

"Right click on a Finishing time in the results, or Right click on a participant in the "Athletes" list on the right side of the Timing screen. When you do this, one of the menu items that appear says "Change Race", then you can select any of the other races pulled into the Timing screen. When you move them to another race, everything refreshes" but a message appeared that said " Cannot move that because that race hasn't started"
