We have a timed event next week with 5 distances. The longest is 72 hours. We use HuTags with an additional timing chip on the back of the bibs. The system works perfectly. We use 2 Feibot mats and ask runners to check their lap count every lap. We had over 10K reads last year and I don't know of more than two or three misses. That is NOT counting the misses that happened when, after a rest, the runner started running without their HuTag.

In the past I have just used the "Athlete" screen instead of the "public display" so runners can see their time and laps completed. Last year we were able to get the public display showing what we needed. This year I cannot get it to work correctly. The left column is displaying "splits, " "Name," and "total time." (No split times or bib#.) The right column displayed every runners as a finisher the first time through and nothing else after that. It is totally blank after everyone goes through once. Is there a setting I am missing?

Also, there is a wide gap between runners on the Public Display. With 5 races going on at the same time by Saturday we need them as close together as possible. None of the adjustments seem to change the separation.

In the "Settings" screen, click on the "Advanced" tab. Check the "Show Bib #" checkbox in the bottom left in the "Public Display" group box.

In the "Edit Race" page (in the "Basic Info" screen), you can swap it between displaying "Lap Time" or "Total Time".

See if that does the trick.

David - did your answer regarding the right column of the Public Display get resolved? I'm having the same situation - the right column displays every runners as a finisher the first time through and nothing else after that. It is totally blank after everyone goes through once. I've switched between Lap Time and Total Time on the Basic Info screen of Edit Race to no avail, and also tried switching between the options on the Winners Determined By dropbox on the Scoring screen of Edit Race.

Thanks & God Bless,
Brad

I also can report that the leaderboard section of the public display no longer works at all.  We do a 24 hour lap race every year (October 25th) and it worked last year, but this year, after showing a random person as finisher, it goes blank.    It was useless so I just minimized in on the screen and did a dry erase board for the leaderboard (we needed an extra volunteer to do this).   I keep meaning to put up a video for Brian and send him the database file so he can look into it.

speaking of public display. First time doing a road race this fall. XC meets up until this point.

I am testing the public display for an event tomorrow. When I hit Show Public Display, everything comes up fine...but if I minimize it on my timing laptop, it shows my timing screen on the TV and not the clock/results...This never happened before. I used to be able to minimize it on my laptop, and it would still show on the TV, not my actual timing screen in ART.

Is there a setting somewhere that I need to check. I want to be able to Show Public Display, but then minimize it on my laptop so I can see if people are getting picked up, etc.

Hi all,

I haven't posted on here in a long time since our setup has remained very constant over the years, but we decided to try something new and I am struggling with the leaderboard.

I usually time small local HS XC meets and have no issues with the leaderboard, kiosk screen, or public display in general. We recently decided to hold a local 24-hour race on one 1-mile looped course (race is in January). This is my first time using this setup, and the leaderboard only works for the first lap before it seems to erase. The kiosk also enters a number of blank rows before the first name, and that doesn't usually happen with our 5Ks.

I attached two links with a screen-recorded video of what our testing is showing us. Any feedback on our errors would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Ryan

Set the lap count to a number greater then any one can complete.
Under race Scoring remember to set Winner determined by Most laps completed.
I label each lap sequentially so the lap numbers shows on the display. There is a shorthand you can use, Brian calls it Dynamic Fields, to add a sequence to the lap name.
I don't think Kiosk will not show any finishers as it does not know who has finished!!
The public display will scroll from the bottom as each runner completes a lap. The leader board to the right will show the runners with most laps.
( Photo the top 10 and you have the data for the prizegiving in your hand as soon as the race closes!)
On the public display setting you can set the number of rows to display. The more rows the smaller the text size.

I hope this helps.
