First, thank you all for the great input over the years!  We have gone from a mediocre hack job race timing "company" to a fairly professional, precise one.  Couldn't have done it without you.  We are hanging it up.  Combination of local competition making pricing not viable for us, too many players reducing the number of events we did get, and life changes.  We finished on top.  If you have read my reports over the years you will know our run timing system has kind of gotten really tight.  Small event for a local festival - third year we have done it - less than 100 runners and the local bank used their arch so super simple setup.  Again, our system nailed it - 100% read rate.  Kiosk continues to be a highlight.  Even with the old, underpowered laptop (our up to date one crashed a couple of months ago and knowing that we were winding it down we didn't replace, just used the backup),  perfect.

I will say, if you are not using the Kiosk you are missing out.  We have simultaneously used the selfie station and kiosk previously and 10-1 runners prefer the kiosk.

Note:  In a separate post, we will be listing the final system we have for sale.  Have a great adventure timing.  For you new timers, this group is the best resource you can have.

Dang! Sorry to hear that man. I've enjoyed reading your posts/ideas over the years.

A lot of this is finding the right market. For the most part, I get along with my competitors and I don't feel like we try to undercut/undermine each other.  That's key!

Quick question: can you elaborate more on your kiosk/selfie station setup?  Sounds like an interesting idea.

Wishing you the best in whatever you do next.
