Merci à tous pour vos réponses. Je recoupais les informations avec une traduction de ChatGPT dont j'étais sceptique. Celle-ci indiquait que l'acte concernait Pierre Vallière, né en 1647, et que ses parents étaient Louis Vallée et Perrine Fournier. J'ai alors demandé pourquoi un acte de 1647 se trouvait dans la section de 1616 des registres de Bouteville. ChatGPT m'a répondu que l'ordre chronologique des registres n'était pas toujours respecté et que certains actes étaient consignés là où il y avait une page blanche, le parchemin étant rare et cher.

J'en ai conclu qu'on ne peut pas se fier à l'IA pour traduire des documents anciens français.

Encore merci pour vos réponses.

Je poursuis mes recherches sur Pierre Vallière et les actes de ses parents. (Il serait peut-être temps de faire un tour à Bouteville et Segonzac, sa terre natale).

Thanks to all that responded. I was cross checking against a ChatGPT translation that I was skeptical of. It responded that the record was for Pierre Valliere born 1647 and his father and mother were Louis Vallere and Perrine Fournier. I pushed back with a question of why a record of 1647 would be buried in the 1616 section of the Bouteville records. GPT responded that chronological records were not always followed and that some records would be recorded where ever a blank section was available as parchment was scare and expensive. 

What I have learned is that AI cannot reliably be trusted to translate old french records.

Again thanks for all your responses. 

I continue with my search for Pierre Valliere and his father and mother's records. (Might be time for a trip to the motherland Bouteville and Segonzac).
