Sitara is a Swahili word that means “Cleft of the Rock” based on Exodus 33:22 which says “I will put you in the cleft of the rock and with my hand I will cover you…”
We endeavor to create a place where one feels no judgment, but feel encouraged and offer a listening ear, a comforting embrace and sometimes a word of wisdom. We exist to:
- A place of rest: unplug from the world and just relax
- A place of restoration: come do self work and heal from experiences that have caused us hurt
- A place to Rejuvenate: become a better person. Learn from another’s story. No one should go through life alone.
Sitara; Stories of Courage is a space where we offer rejuvenation. “No one should have to face life alone.”
As human beings, we have a deep-seated need for appreciation, respect for who we are, and empathy for our personal experiences. Making the daily decision to live an extra-ordinary life demonstrates a courage to live life on our own terms – and “Sitara: Stories of Courage” exists to offer such stories as continued encouragement and inspiration for others to live a legacy.

This edition will feature stories from:
-Elani – A sensational group that, even with qualified educational degrees, chose to pursue a life of music.
-Tabitha Taruru – A brave woman who, declared barren, refused to lose hope, and is now mother to three
-Mugambi Nthiga – A passionate actor/writer/director who quit a stable job in advertising to pursue his dreams in the unknown world of Kenyan film.
We go through many challenges all along our lives – but no one has to face life alone.
“Sitara: Stories of Courage” presents you with ordinary people who continue to live courageous lives, and are therefore living their legacy. These stories encourage YOU to take a step of courage and live your legacy.
