Bell Jeff - Updates on December games and 2023

Hi all - 

We wanted to make everyone aware of some changes that will be happening soon.

December is possibly going to be our last month of regular games. We will be taking a break in Jan and Feb, however it's possible we may not be returning.

There's a few reasons for this:

Rising fees - As some of you may be aware, next year the school is raising their gym fees to help cover the costs of recent renovations and future improvements. Unfortunately, the price hikes basically require us to raise guest and member fees to the point that we do not feel that we can comfortably cover the increase. At this point, the costs seem comparable to a monthly gym membership. We've tried to operate these games at minimal costs because we just wanted somewhere nice to play ball for relatively cheap. With the new increase, we are not sure we can do that anymore.

Time - Organizing the games is a fair amount of work, including organizing sign ups, collecting and making payments, getting insurance, etc. We've been doing this for 5 years (or more?) and have been playing in the Thurs night games for even longer. We just need a break.

So...this means that it's possible that December will be our last games - maybe for awhile, maybe much longer. We wanted to thank you all for the years of great games and we hope to have some great runs as we close out the year.

For the remainder of the year, nothing will change - an email sign up will go out tomorrow and we will be playing on Thursday. Costs will remain the same.

Reminder - Monthly members - if you plan on playing in Dec, please send over your fee ($30) via Venmo or Paypal.
