Just received the attached from Liquid telecom. Not sure if you guys have it already. Unfortunately it still doesn't have any information on lit capacity. They say it "isn’t something we are needing to disclose"

Thanks! That's a more extensive than this one
(http://www.techzim.co.zw/2011/05/the-econet-backbone-optic-fibre-map/)
which only covers Zimbabwe.

At Africom in November (2012) in Cape Town, Nic Rednick announced that they had extended their fibre to Lubumbashi in DRC which I see is not yet included on the Wikipedia page. See http://www.liquidtelecom.com/blog/liquid-telecom-lays-fibre-to-the-drc-and-connects-drc-mobile-operator-to-southern-african-regional-fibre-network-and-to-wacs

Thanks Indra.  Have added it to the wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_terrestrial_fibre_optic_cable_projects_in_Africa#Democratic_Republic_of_Congo).  I wrote to Liquid a couple of weeks ago to ask for a slightly more detailed map to update http://afterfibre.net but haven't heard anything back yet.

Cheers... Steve

P.S.  The list of editors of the wikipedia entry is dismayingly familiar  http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_terrestrial_fibre_optic_cable_projects_in_Africa&action=history   Increase your Internet karma by editing an entry :-)

Hello Folks,

Is there any possibility for a team member here to confirm whether we have had any major outages on both Eassy and Seacom during the past few days?

Our upstream is in SA and we have had major downtimes within the last three weeks. The last one was a full five hours and the reason being cable cuts. More precisely this was on 14/02.

Regards.
