Hello,

Find attached the Liquid Telecoms fibre map in Zimbabwe. The operational status of the fibre shown on the map is current. It connect to a SEACOM cable in South Africa.

The other backbone fibre networks in the country have been laid by PowerTel (state owned), Africom (private) and TelOne (state owned fibre from Harare to Mozambique border then to EASSy) havent laid my hands on these maps and their websites (www.powertel.co.zw, www.afri-com.com, www.telone.co.zw) don't have anything

Hi Limbikani,

Thanks for that update and even better that it comes already in the
form of a map! Do you by any chance have contact details for anyone
at Liquid, PowerTel, Africom, or TelOne?

Thanks again... Steve

Hi Steve,

Here are my contacts at the companies. Trying to get the data even from them is a struggle sometimes though. I got the Liquid one from the UK chief tech officer Ben Roberts <ben.r...@liquidtelecom.com>. He didn't want to talk about capacity, how much is lit etc...

At PowerTel (division of the national power company, so the fibre is on power pylons) I usually talk to their Sales & Marketing Manager, Willard Nyagwande  <wnyag...@powertel.co.zw>,

At Africom there's a Marketing Manager as well called Martin Shoko. Good guy. His email is <sho...@afri-com.com>.

I have noone at TelOne save for low level friends who probably equally need to navigate bureaucratic system. The email of the PR guy (who doesn't respond to most of our emails for info) is collin....@telone.co.zw. His name is Collin Wilbesi. Good luck there.

Regards
