I have a client that would like to replace their current WAP.  They currently have a Dlink DAP-1522 that they are having issues with.  Does anyone have a recommendation?

The client would like to be as secure as possible and be able to connect at least 30 devices to the wireless network.  Range should not be an issue as the WAP is centrally located.

i've seen dd-wrt be a little sketchy on some routers, not sure if you've played with the newer asus routers, such as the rt-n66u, but it's solid as can be, and has excellent range.

I would go with the Asus also. I installed the rt-n65u in the basement of a bar and the bar accross the street was using the WiFi. But I was able to turn down the power of the signal so they could not use it any more. Adjustable bands, guest bands, adjustable bandwidth. Very solid and configurable router. This one looks even more promising  http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3472991&CatId=7412

That Asus router seems like it is quite the piece of hardware.  The ability to limit the range of the wireless network would be extremely valuable to this customer.  He also said he would like the new 802.11ac protocol so it looks like this could be our winner.  Great suggestion!

I've had very good luck with openmesh and cloudtraxx wireless networks.  These are dynamically expandable, remotely manageable.
