Hello everyone. I have a question about printers. I recently installed a new printer for a friend and followed the instructions, but when I finished with the installation the printout is tiny and won't print normal. Any ideas?

Thanks, Sal

Try uninstalling and re-installing the drivers for the printer. Or you may want to visit the website for the manufacturer of the printer and check to see if there are updates for that printers drivers. Hope that helps! What O.S. are you installing the printer to?

Print the configuration page or self test page. If the font from the self test page is normal, its the application issue. Simply reinstall the application.

Sounds like a previous issue I had.  I was configuring a zebra thermal label printer.  The print jobs were all messed up.  I fixed this by changing paper size settings in the printer preferences.  It was printing a regular paper in a 4 x 6 " label.

For some more help for techs reading this, I had an issue with the same printer not printing after it was powered on and drivers were reinstalled.  The issue was the parallel cable was missing a screw to tighten it from a previous tech.  When they say check cables first, check them first.  You will save alot of time going from simplest to most complex solutions.

Additionally, if you have the issue where someone's printer is printing on only half the page or just a quadrant of it, set the printer to "print image" and it will resolve the issue sometimes.
