Well... This has been quite an ordeal, but none of it is the fault of Line 6 or Steinberg. I obtained the access code from Line 6 and installed Cubase Elements 10 along with the license manager and download manager. (You get three programs from Steinberg) Cubase did not seem to work, and to make matters worse, the Spider Remote program failed to work correctly, when it had worked fine before. After trying everything else I could think of I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 10. Reinstalled Spider Remote, the Asio drivers, and the three programs from Steinberg, and everything works now. I needed to email Steinberg support to get a helper file to reset the license manager, and get a fresh activation code. I think the problem was related to the way that Win 10 manages USB. Excellent support from Line 6 and Steinberg.
Line 6 provided a Steinberg/Cubase link and pass code when I registered my Spider V 120 on this site recently. I followed the link, was prompted by Steinberg to register/create an account but the site was impervious to any attempt to register/create an acct. I would've reached out to Steinberg about the issue, but one needs to be registered to contact support....Eyes Rolling. What's funny is that years ago I was offered free Cubase with a completely different product; at that time I experienced the 20th century version not accessing the technology. I'll do other things with my time rather than pursue this in 2019. A waste of time.
I didn't get a link either at first, but I went back to the line 6 website to register my amp again (I removed the registration and just re-added it). Then I got a link to the software and the activation codes, etc.
So, today i finally decide to activate my code, which one i got from the Spider V MKII 30watt registration, and suddenly i've realised, that i can activate even up to cubase 11 le edition. So, i have no ideas guys, what's wrong with your way/codes. Everuthing works well, as must be
When I click on to the 7.5 icon it always asks me if I want to use Cubase or Cubase Artist. I was never sure why I was being prompted for Cubase (perhaps I had also entered a short terms license for it as well.). Either way I always use Cubase Artist.
I just noticed that the license that was provided in the box was only for a 25 hour license. Is it possible that I only ever set this up for 25 hours? I have probably only used it for 25 hours in the last year so now I am wondering.
When I upgraded to 7.5 it downloaded a new application. I read in the forums that if you tried to delete 7.0 that the 7.5 version would not work properly. Thus I kept both on my computer but I only ever click on the 7.5 version.
The license I have on my dongle is for Cubase Artist 7.0 and it looks intact (i.e. black text). I can also see an expired license for Cubase 7.0 (red text) which has an expiration date of yesterday (makes sense).
I have tried re-entering the license key that came with my purchase (paper version in box) in both the 7.0 and 7.5 versions on my computer. Both versions prompt me to activate the license and both reject the entry saying that the license has already been used.
I found the upgrade license to Cubase 7.5 in an old email. I paid $49.99 for it. When I click on the 7.5 Application I am prompted for the license key. When I click on the e-licenser software and type in the code I am told that there are not any upgradable software on my dongle. When I hit OK. I can still see the Cubase 7.0 license in my License list which is black and valid with a description that says it is a full license.
I can now open the original Cubase 7.0 application. Do if I can open it that means the license for it must now be working but the e-license will not let me upgrade it using the original 7.5 license key that I have in my possession.
Maybe not the solution but Always make sure you have the latest elicenser software, as from installation it will update the productscatalog on the usb stick online and make the newly available products know to authenticate activation numbers for the newer products like groove agent 4, cubase 7.5.
I have just paid the update/subscription for my Move Editor 2021 (does this mean every year I will have to pay another 50 - seperate question - sorry). I receviced a coupon for NewBlue Filters 5 Ultimate. I entered the coupon code to active pack And I assume it downloaded it. A box popped up on Windows 10 to activate it? But I didn't have an activation code at that time. Now received the activation code but don't know where to add this. So I am not sure whether I have added this pack and also especially whether I have activated it? Heaven help me when I try to install the proDAD apps x 2 and activate them. I do have all the key/data etc... Saved - honest I do!
Ok I get to the point on the 3 New Blue Effects in MX under Effects and I download them and they shown as downloaded. But then when I restart they want me to download. I have registered/activated with New Blue as far as I know for a Manager comes up entered the KEY not coupon and it now shown as ok. This is a very convuluted process. Have a snapshot JPEG but no insert picture at this point.
Any third party effects have to be registered with the makers of the plugins on their sites where the codes are used in your accounts with them. So you have to open an account (If you don't already have one) with New Blue (or whoever) and register your copy with them there.
You do not have to renew the product each year. You can keep the functioning product you already have. You will not get any of the new plugins but the program will continue to run and can be downloaded from your account again if need be along with an activation code should you need to but you must keep your log in details and passwords to access them so don't lose or delete those emails. Make printed copies if you have to.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.
But. you also state the activation code won't work which implies you are seeing the newblues. If that is the case, be sure you enter the complete activation code. I say this because I used cut and paste to enter and for some reason the full activation serial number did not paste. I happened to be in contact with NewBlue at the time and they pointed out the incomplete serial number.
The activation code (from the email) is inserted into Help>Activate Content Pack as the initial step. I don't get to the point where I can insert the activation code you're talking about, which seems to be after the content pack has been "activated" and the NB item appears in Extra Effects.
