Dear community,

The term "Research Software Engineers" has grown in popularity globally since 2012 to describe people who work in research settings and spend most of their time coding or building data/computing infrastructure to support research.

Talarify is partnering with RSSE Africa to re-launch the RSSE Africa community of practice with a monthly webinar and community discussion event. We want to connect our community and help them to benefit from activities, resources, and opportunities worldwide, whilst also creating awareness of the skills and activities of RSSEs on the continent.

Our first event takes place on 11 May from 15:00 - 16:00 CAT online. Registration and more information are available at https://qkt.io/rsse-africa-2022.

We've attached a flyer to give more information about the global RSE movement as well as RSSE Africa. A second flyer provides more information about the upcoming event.

We would greatly appreciate it if you could advertise these events to your communities.

Please let us know if you have any questions via rssea...@sanbi.ac.za.

We look forward to welcoming everyone to these events.

Kind regards,

Anelda & the RSSE Africa Team
