On 21st October 2014, AfrII staff met with Patrick Mutuo, the Africa Field Director for VITAL SIGNS, a new project being launched in Uganda by the Institute in partnership with Conservation International and The Earth Institute Columbia University.
Set to kick off in January 2015, VITAL SIGNS shall aim to provide near real-time data and diagnostic tools to leaders around the world to help inform agricultural decisions and monitor their outcomes.
It fills a critical need for integrated measurements of agriculture, ecosystem services and human well-being, and is creating a “gold standard” environmental monitoring system.
