My People:

First, strange deaths happen, and one of such is what happened to once-and-future Governor Prince Abubakar Audu just when he expired upon announcement of the inconclusiveness of his latest governorship bid in Kogi State.

Yes, conspiracy theories will abound, but this was how he was destined to die....under wildly strange circumstances.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

And next comes Obi Nwakanma, the Forrest Gump of Igbo-Nigerian history, who strikes again, to disclose that the Igala  Prince Au,du Abubakar, from Ofu Local Government in Kogi State, is indeed  "Igbo'' - ethnically, culturally or politically?

Odikwa egwu!

Well,  this is a sad departure...and an interesting (but dubious) connection.....with lawyers  (Keyamo, Emetulu, Okoi Obla, etc.) taking over to test Nigeria's Constitution once again....and a welcoming test for new INEC Chair Yakubu Mahmood.

And there you have it.

I know that Audu spoke Igbo fluently and in fact I know he grew up in Onitsha. I also know that there are Igbo in Kogi who are indigenes of that state but I never actually knew that Audu was one. Now I know the reason for his warm welcome to Umuigbo from the East.

Thanks again for making it known to a lot of people that Kogi + Benue are all IGBO.
This Sharaka going on  is nothing but Sakara.

When he was in Washington DC, he never hid it from anyone who cared to ask. He hosted the people who knew exactly what he was all about.
His wife in Washington is there to tell the tale.

Igala are all IGBO.  Enough said.

He is at home in Kogi...in ALA-OMA.

Even YakubuPE is Igala. he is IGBO too.

Audu was an Igbo from Ogbe Onicha, Alaoma, Kogi state. Grew up in Onitsha, studied briefly at Dennis Memorial Grammar School, and then at a commercial school in Jos following the civil war; and the rest is history. He has done his bit on earth. I suspect his death would be from a massive cardiac arrest. He looked quite unfit and heavy, and his face showed signs of a possible, long condition of diabetes/High BP. I will doubt that anybody poisoned him. But of course, stranger things also happen.

Re: Tinubu Others, Kill Kogi Guber Candidate- Okorocha. My attention has been drawn to the above story which is trending on social media. When I first read the concocted tale full of thrash and libel told by enemies of democracy, my initial decision was to ignore it but on a second thought I have decided to put the record straight. The story which is written in poor English purported that Gov Rochas Okorocha, the Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum gave an interview where he accused Tinubu of being behind the death of Kogi state APC candidate, late Prince Abubakar Audu. Firstly Gov Rochas Okorocha spent the better part of yesterday, Sunday 22nd November, 2015 till about 7 pm chairing a stakeholders forum of South-East Leaders and returned to Owerri same night, it is bewildering where and when he gave the interview which thrended same night on social media? Secondly, Prince Abubakar Audu is not yet a member of APC Governors Forum and Gov Okorocha could not have granted the interview on that score. The family of Prince Abubakar Audu has not blamed anyone for the death of their son neither is Gov Okorocha a member of the Audu family. The story was written as an interview Governor Okorocha granted yet no medium was mentioned. Can one grant interview to thin air? The purported interview is a wicked machination of people who are envious of the towering profile of Gov Rochas Okorocha and aim at bringing him at loggerheads with leaders of the Party especially Sen Bola Tinubu, a former Governor of Lagos State and a man Gov Okorocha holds in very high esteem. It is also remarkable that the story has no source but emanated from the Facebook wall of a PDP apologist who must have been paid by her handlers to cause disaffection within APC family. The story started by referring to Gov Okorocha as a former Special Adviser to former President Obasanjo on Inter -Party Affairs, an office he held several years ago indicating that the authors do not know him well enough. I wish at this point to remind the harbingers of libelous, concocted and devious news on social media that there is now a law on social media as the liberty enjoyed casting aspersions on people has ended. God bless Nigeria. Imo Must Be Better. Ik Ogbonna, anipr Special Assistant to the Imo State Governor on Information Communications Technology.

Subject: [OmoOdua] Tinubu Poisoned Audu – APC Gov. Okorocha | The ICON

Absolute rubbish from Okorocha .

Rochas-Okorocha
Information coming in from This Day suggests Audu was actually poisoned. He did not die of a heart attack. Audu was rushed to the hospital and repeatedly vomiting blood which he then passed out and died.
Word going around now is that Tinubu has a hand in his death. It is said that Audu’s poisoning was pre-planned in order to impose Bola Tinubu’s boy James Abiodun Faleke from Okun-Yoruba – Abubakar Audu’s running mate – on Kogi. Although from Kogi, Faleke was a member of theHouse of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos.
MEANWHILE, the Special Adviser on Inter-Party affairs to former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor of Imo State, Mr. Rochas Okorocha [above] has alleged that the national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu among others killed the Kogi State governorship candidate, Alhaji Abulbakah Audu.
Okorocha, who accused the national leadership of the party, Tinubu, said the sudden death must have been pre-programmed by the mentioned.
He said: “We are not unaware of their antics and plans to field Audu’s deputy, Mr. Abiodun Faleke, after the programmed death his boss.
“Party apart, we are all human beings and such plot against fellow human is in itself inhuman and devilish.”
Speaking on phone with Mr. Okorocha shortly after the sad news, he described the death of Audu as untimely and inhuman at this moment for the national party, APC.
“How can we be mourning the departure of a guber candidate in Kogi State and Tinubu supporters are jubilating in Lagos?
“Do we further need any interpreter to interpret how and where the sudden death emanated from?
“No!
“Such is how we could manage our intra-party clash of interests in APC.
“It is unfortunate,” Okorocha said.

There isn’t that much difference in the brief bio of the departed Prince Abubakar Audu you provided from that of Obi Nwakanma except the words, “was an Igbo”. Other embellishment, that is, “is indeed  "Igbo'' - ethnically, culturally or politically?” were added by you. Even without you adding those embellishment, most readers know the man was an Igala Prince from Kogi State. He couldn’t have been Igbo. So, don’t make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Leye:

Obi Nwakanma is flat out wrong to say Ausu was Igbo.  In fact, judging from the arrow of time and geography and  history, the Igbo fellows Obi Nwakanma and Ken Asagwars are anthropoogically Igala, while Audu is not Igbo.

And there you have it.

Afis comment: KC Asagwara, you are still comprehension challenged. Nwakanma calls part of Kogi an igbo area, this fool says he just stated Audu Abubakar was "an igbo".
No, he practically gave Ogbonicha to Inyanmurai.

You are a merry-go-rounder, Asagwara.
You said Nwakanma only stated one thing, I pointed out he stated more than one.
You came back with "is that what your angst blah blah"?
Stay focused please.

I wonder how you can lecture in a mild temperament Canada, with your unfocused and hyperactivity attention deficit disorder.

If you did not hyperventilate on no-brainer from Nwakanma, I won't point out your non-comprehension.
Is like you can't understand simple written words.
