Nze Amadiebube Mbama Elected New CISA President
All the Igbo States in the Americas under the auspices of the Council of Igbo States in Americas (CISA) voted to elect Nze Amadiebube Robert Mbama from Imo State as its new President - to lead the Organization for the next two years.
CISA constitution provides for a two-year rotational presidency among the Igbo Speaking states in alphabetical order. CISA change of leadership baton has remained peaceful since its inception. Each state presents the best of its tested leaders for the office and CISA has benefitted tremendously from this model. The organization’s Governing Council ratified the election during its first meeting in January. The new administration of Nze Mbama was sworn in on January 21, 2018 by the Council’s legal adviser, Attorney Bobby Aniekwu.
Nze Amadiebube Mbama thanked the members of CISA Governing Council and all in CISA conglomerate for the confidence reposed on him and pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessors. The new leader earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of San Francisco, California and holds an MBA, FCA, CGMA, CFF, CPA and CAMS. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a Chartered Global Management Accountant, a Certified Financial Forensic, a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
Nze Mbama brings a wealth of experience to the position, including more than 30 years of accounting management and financial experience in both the private and public sectors; a former adjunct professor - Accounting and Finance at the University of Phoenix. A former Supervisor with the Department of Financial Institutions, State of California, former savings and loan examiner and supervisor of financial institutions examiners.
Nze Mbama is the President of MBAMA & Associates LLC, a Georgia based anti-money laundering antiterrorist financing, bank secrecy act and office of foreign asset control consulting company. Prior to his election as President last Sunday, Nze Mbama serves as the Head of CISA Economic Council and the lead Imo State representative at CISA’s Governing Council. He has been an esteemed member of CISA Board of Trustees and Governing Council since its inception and is the lead representative of Imo State in the Council. An active member of the community, a patron of Imo State Congress of America (ISCA), past chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) USA District and currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustee of ICAN USA District Society, former President of the Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce, former President of his church Parish Council, to mention but these.
The new President is committed to working, collaborating and partnering with Ndi Igbo in Diaspora as strategic partners on Igbo advocacy and the advancement of Igbo culture and arts in the Americas and across the globe.
