The more religious countries, usually have more poverty and corruption- Karl Marx.

In Nigeria 🇳🇬 we have 36 state governments plus the FCT as the federal capital, 37.

We have 469 senators and representatives.

Then, ministers, heads of agencies, permanent secretaries of different ministries, we have over hundreds of parastatals, over 700 local governments.

The President and his vice and other appointees

All of these are either Christians or Muslims.

An oath of office is taken by either bible or Quran.

They are in mosques on Friday or in churches on Sundays.

They either read bible or Quran.

In the corruption index.

Nigeria is ranked 142nd out of 182 countries.

26 out of 100 points.

Take a look at the poverty index 👇

As of 2026, Nigeria ranks among the highest in global poverty, with projections suggesting nearly 141 million people, or roughly two-thirds of the population, could be living in poverty.

You can now see why Religion is our major obstacle to our growth.
