UN is not a priority for Nigeria right now.
Trump was talking down on all nations as if they were his chattels.
I already saw Laolu’s video somewhere else.
I don’t fault his reporting.

What I don’t agree with is that UNGA attendance is a do or die for a Nigerian president who is still trying to rehabilitate a country in economic trauma.

Getting a UN Security Council seat is just a ceremonial thing for countries like Nigeria.
Nigeria should focus on its people starving, no electricity, bad school buildings, no pipe borne water, no good healthcare facilities for the poor.
If countries like France, Britain and Russia can’t use their vetoes to stop the killings in Gaza……..what use is the veto good for?
Absolutely nothing for countries like Nigeria.

Since 2005, Nigeria has been campaigning for a seat at the UN security council, and recently asking with full veto.
We call it “oosa bi oole gbemi fimisi bio se bami”.

Is veto like akara that is given out yafunyafun during Muslim fasting period?
Nigeria’s govts love to make themselves look like jokers.
You don’t have nuclear weapons, you don’t have food for your citizens, but you want veto power.
This is a laffing matter, walahi.
We call it “shaki nse bi ora, egun nsebi eran”.

I think Tinubu should face the economy, and also plug all the loopholes deliberately created for corrupt and sharp practices by NASS and their cabals in govt and in private sector.
FIX YOUR HOUSE, nations will worship you like they now embrace China.
People forget that China once closed its doors to the outside world, or thru sanctions and isolation after the Commie revolt of ‘49. China went thru major reorganization, reforms, and now they are leading the world.
Face your country, all the tools you need are there.

UN is toothless.
US pulled funds from its own USAID, I wonder if US won’t pull its funding from UN by next year.

Let me ask: Those Euro nations with veto, how has that help Gaza, Ukraine, Congo?
You Nigerians your wahala too much.

Afis
Who’s promising you all things, heaven on earth?
Lemme guess, a naked man with his hands in his pockets!

Dear All:

It must be a tough job serving as the President of Nigeria.
If BAT had flown to NYC for the 2025 UN Gen. Assembly he would be accused
of traveling too much.

Now that he has decided to stay at Aso rock and let his VP
take his place and enjoy the spotlight, he is being accused of shacking his duties.

Bye,

Ola

Don Kenobi writes:

The idea that all nations have a viable path to success flies in the face of both history and logic. There is always a turn on the road to progress, and a moment when the turn must be taken. Miss it, and you may have to wait a millennium.

It’s cold, but that’s the universe.
It is in a hurry.

It has no time for FOOLS (men or nations).

Key Takeaways

  • The path forward – Ethnic nationalities must regroup, take responsibility, and chart new independent futures.
  • Nigeria as a failed experiment – The nation missed its historic turn toward progress and may now be terminally ill.
  • History doesn’t wait – The universe is in a hurry; missed opportunities can mean waiting a millennium.
  • Delta/Aladja Steel Complex – A $5B project (now worth $18.15B) that failed, symbolizing decades of waste and corruption.
  • The kickback culture – Projects are launched for a 10% bribe, then abandoned once the payoff is secured.
  • Two leaders who tried – One punished corrupt governors, seized SUVs, fought for reforms, even sought a third term. Another built the Second Niger Bridge. Both ultimately failed to tame corruption.
  • Why still bother? – Because collapse can also bring rebirth.
  • The lesson from Rome – Great but parasitic, Rome collapsed into the Dark Ages before renewal came through new civilizations.
  • Nigeria’s reality today – Too much blood, hatred, and godlessness have become normalized; the state cannot be saved.

If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves. - Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill (1874-1965)

You don't know anything about Diplomacy or International Relations. Tinubu doesn't have to go to the UN if he is busy with state work. He can be represented by his Vice President or Minister of External Affairs. That's how International Relations works.

Unfortunately you don't know that.
