My brother Abba, I don't think GEJ spent any more on any area except in the political North. Political wisdom, which may or may not be correct, says all the monies went up North in pursuit of political support. As your friend Igirigi Ezeana keeps reminding us that is why the Niger bridge is PPPed

On a more serious note if PMB develops the delta it will be proof of my thesis that turn by turn presidency does not benefit anyone---not even the people whose turn it is. Better find a competent person who will put the whole economy on a rising tide

Nigerians can and will develop the DELTA REGION. They do not NEED NO BRITISH GOVERNMENT HELP.  Tell the British Ambassador to get his government to payback to NIGERIA ALL THE EXPLOITATION OF NIGERIAN RESOURCES DURING BRITISH COLONIZATION OF NIGERIA. Sometimes these white colonial trash think Africans are fools. I experianced British and French Colonialism in Africa. These Assholes raped Africa and they return " oh we can help you here" when they caused the poverty themselves. The ambassador should go screw his queen. Asshole.

Joe Attueyi:

Please don't give false information.

GEJ and his administration spent a LOT OF MONEY in the Niger-Delta....sent a lot of money there for projects......the money just mostly went into private pockets, in the worst form of crony capitalism, incompetent servicing,  and criminal entitlement posturing.....

I know...I live there...we are all victims of that crony capitalism in particular.....GEJ is as much a victim as the rest of the Niger-Delta....in five years that I have lived there, nothing has changed much.....except for the University, which GEJ found it difficult during his campaign in the Niger-Delta to claim credit for,  because it is in his home-town......which was not his idea in the first instance...

Quite frankly, it does not take much to develop the Niger-Delta.....PMB will....

And there you have it.

My brother Abba,
You are trying to rewrite current history.

GEJ lost the election because the North had coalesced around the idea that he was stealing the 'North's turn' and that turn must be retrieved by fire by force. Add to this Northern coalition many genuinely disaffected Nigerians who rightly saw GEJ as a weakling who , despite an outstanding economic management team, could not manage the socio-political issues plaguing Nigeria.

Here is Dr Ola Kassim, a noted Buharist, :

....Fear of Loss of privilege-- the GEJ government was perceived, rightly or wrongly
as being closer to the peoples of the SS and the SE
as the most visible senior positions in the government were
occupied by SE and SS indigenes, even though
there wasn't much on the ground to attest
to a preferential or better socio-economic development in these zones compared to the rest of Nigeria as a result of these appointments.
In fact, GEJ probably spent a disproportionate amount
of the developments in Northern Nigeria in his
bid to appease PDP leaders from the north so
that they could give him a second term.

Btw there was only about 2 million vote difference between PMB and GEJ--- with Kano alone giving PMB 2 million votes! That is why I am confident that any competent candidate can beat PMB in 2019

Ezeana thinks that Buhari is at the brink of becoming the best president Africa ever had. Embark on developing the Delta and SE and redress grievances that prompt the agitations for Biafra and Oduduwa and the guy without a certificate will outperform all the guys with certificates combined. To leave no doubts about his greatness, Halliburton Bribery Scandal list will be probed and Obasanjo and Atiku and everyone on that list sentenced to hard labor for beginners.

Yep. Some are born great, but Buhari was not. Some have greatness given to them awufu. Not Buhari. Some achieve greatness. Now you are talking. Buhari is at the fork in the road to infamy or greatness. To achieve greatness, he knows the fork in the road to take. The one that has greatness written all over it. Ezeana and the entire world are watching.

This is a country that is slashing everything and implementing the most cruel and crude austerity measures, closing bed for the sick and vulnerable, how are they going to help develop the Niger Delta? The ambassador should have been told to go and solve his problems first.

"I know...I live there...we are all victims of that crony capitalism in particular."
Mobolaji has stared to surprise me. The change in environment between DC and Otueke and his Ekiti roots are transforming him positively towards Social Justice.

Wilson Iguade.
Continue your good work, I forecast that we shall rescue this brother to our camp. This his latest writeup is very honest.
Today is my birthday. Mobolaji two time gave me a birthday gift in the form of two of his writeups today which show that this brother is undergoing transformation. He is moving away from imperilaism.
This his "we are all victims of crony capitalism in porticular" came out of his mind. It shows that he too is annoyed with the lack of patriotism in Nigeria, he has seen how Americans built their country and he is annoyed with our people.
He may be swimming against the tide in Otueke against the enemies of progress.
I wish him Godspeed.
This forum is not useless afterall.

Keep it high, do not fall bellow this level. Very good input indeed.

Abba,

I concur with you that GEJ economic team was a total failure. I will add that the same goes for Obasanjo's economic team. Both teams were over zealous about privatization, but misunderstood the concept of real life economics in a country like Nigeria. They all failed woefully and delivered nothing for the citizens. All they did was cushion the nest of themselves, their cronies and foreign companies and individuals. They left the people poorer than they met them starting from 1999 through 2015.

Not at all.

Fah, fah, fah FOUL.  The North felt it was ``its turn" during the 2011 polls too ...and Goodluck Jonathan did not lose then (didn't he ``steal" their turn then?)   You need to come up with better reasoning, my friend.  GEJ lost because Nigerians have had enough.  Enough of the culture of incompetence, corruption, mediocrity, impunity, lawlessness, recklessness and nepotism he and the rest of the PDP bunch perpetuated in Nigeria.  The SW voted against GEJ surely not because it believes it was the North's turn....did it?  I am laughing out loudly here.

Add to this Northern coalition many genuinely disaffected Nigerians who rightly saw GEJ as a weakling who , despite an outstanding economic management team, could not manage the socio-political issues plaguing Nigeria.

You kept huffing and puffing about this ``outstanding economic management team" since time imo river.  What can you say, in all honesty, this ``outstanding team" achieve?  Can you, in all honesty, say this ``outstanding team" left a decent (or even sub-decent) economy on May 29, 2015?  They were ``outstanding" only in failure.  They destroyed the nation....and PMB is now having to pick up the pieces....to try to resuscitate a comatose nation.  There was absolutely nothing ``outstanding" about GEJ's economic (or any other) team.  They were a complete failure.....and we are so glad to have seen the back of them.  All of them.

Here is Dr Ola Kassim, a noted Buharist, :

....Fear of Loss of privilege-- the GEJ government was perceived, rightly or wrongly

In fact, GEJ probably spent a disproportionate amount

bid to appease PDP leaders from the north so
that they could give him a second term.

My Mr. Chairman was mistaken on this.   I believe pretty much everyone knows that GEJ was a President for the SS and the SE....  did you read the data Bolaji reported in his response to Wharf earlier today?

Btw there was only about 2 million vote difference between PMB and GEJ--- with Kano alone giving PMB 2 million votes!

Rivers ....a far tinier and less populated place.....also ``gave" GEJ nearly 2 million votes.  Need I say more?  Yes, I would.
The margin of victory will have been much larger if there was actual election in the SS and SE (for instance, if those ridiculous figures GEJ says he ``received" from Rivers were actually counted based on the actual wishes of the people of Rivers State).

That is why I am confident that any competent candidate can beat PMB in 2019

Hehehehhehehehehehhehe.  So, your GEJ was not a ``competent candidate". You are coming around....albeit gradually.  We shall continue to be patiently educating you....until you see the light -:)))).

On a more serious note if PMB develops the delta it will be proof of my thesis that turn by turn presidency does not benefit anyone---not even the people whose turn it is. Better find a competent person who will put the whole economy on a rising tide

Oga nwa Dim Orioha,
VC Aluko is an evil genius. He will cover up all and everything that will make him look somehow on everything. Ask all of us in NADECO days in Maryland. Frankly speaking, Otueke need as many Canoes as they can get. You're right on the mark.

Igirigi Achusim Ezeans:

In my almost five years so far as VC, FUO has lost two academic staff (one during childbirth, the other (a male) in an okada accident away from campus), one administrative male staff to illness, and three male students - one to illness at home during a holiday period, one (along with wife and child) to smoke inhalation poisoning in their home (discovered three days later), and the third by drowning at night while swimming unattended in a water body at Yenagoa Peace Park during a Church retreat from which group  he inscrutably retreated for a short unfortunate period.

As VC, one unanticipated duty is dealing with the death of staff and students and their families.  There is not only the sadness of loss, but concern about university culpability, which luckily was not the case in any of these six fatalities.

And there you have it.

VC Aluko:

Death is part of life. May their souls rest in peace. Six deaths in almost 5 years. Time really flies. It feels like it was just yesterday that I lectured you that if you don't get your refund due you from IRS, not to worry. Because all you have to do was yell at IRS "Where is my refund"? If someone stole your refund, it was none of your business. It was between IRS and the thief. Ezeana never lost an argument, fyi. And it has been almost 5 years. Ambassador Adefuye has since been promoted to glory, as we say in the Salvation Army.

Surprised though that anymore would drown in the creeks except for outsiders. I was told that every child born in the creeks was thrown in the water. If they are really Ijaw, they would survive the ordeal and would automatically survive in water for ever everywhere.

I am scared of water. And there are enough bad roads in SE and I am not about to come to Otuoke where the roads are bad and there are no canoes. Because you don't want canoes in Otuoke. I wonder how Nwadiana and neighbor Joe fared without canoes and the bad roads during his visit.

VC Aluko is lacking in independence as the FCAs will tell you. He cannot audit himself. We need an independent person to tell us what and if GEJ did anything of note outside the north. While he dissed Aviation minister for turning Enugu airport into an international airport in the SE, Sanusi became Emir of Kano for heisting CBN.
