*"There are days," said Eeyore quietly, "when everything feels a little too heavy, and even the sky looks as though it has forgotten how to shine."

Pooh placed a small glowing light between them and smiled his round, gentle smile.

"That’s alright, Eeyore. The night may be long, and the path may be cold, but nights don’t last forever. The sun always remembers to come back. And until it does, I’ll sit right here with you, so you don’t have to wait alone."

Eeyore shuffled his feet and gave a small sigh, but it wasn’t quite as sad as before.

"Do you really think the sun will rise again, Pooh?"

*"I don’t just think it," Pooh said, patting his friend’s paw. "I know it. Because it always has, and it always will. And even when you can’t see it, it’s already on its way. That’s the thing about dark times, Eeyore — they don’t stay. But friends do."

And so they sat together in the quiet snow, the little light flickering between them, holding back the dark until the morning found them again.
