Our 2026 International Day of Forests Green Schools Tree Planting project activities will commence on 20th March, with a total of 40 Schools in Uganda set to benefit between March-April 2026 (Uganda is currently experiencing heavy rains).

In february 2024, the Government of South Sudan was forced to close schools for 2 weeks due to unbearable heat waves, for details visit https://www.euronews.com/green/2025/02/24/south-sudan-shuts-schools-for-two-weeks-after-students-collapse-due-to-extreme-heat

 

Effective 20th March 2026, our activities run till end of April 2026, as resources become available in selected Public schools, and Communities, you can join us by allocating and investing resources to procure and plant trees in available school spaces.

This year we aim at Planting 100,000 trees in Urban Schools across the Country, with a keen focus on Northern Uganda and West Nile. This comes as a response to Climate Change, to address the increasing heat waves, rough storms, prolonged droughts, more trees will be able to provide the most needed conducive atmosphere for the communities identified above.
